CUPA-HR New Jersey Chapter Board Nominations Now Open
The CUPA-HR New Jersey Chapter Board is seeking nominations — including self-nominations — for the following positions:

Serving on the Chapter Board is an opportunity to give back to the Higher Ed HR community while developing your leadership skills, expanding your professional network, and enhancing your resume. Board members engage with and support colleagues across New Jersey’s higher education institutions.
Position Summaries
Secretary (Two-Year Term)
Records official actions of the Board and membership, including agendas, attendance, and meeting minutes. Manages chapter records, email and Google accounts, creates surveys, orders supplies, assists with communications, and supports event logistics including attendance and name tags.
Director of Engagement and Outreach (Two-Year Term)
Leads efforts to increase awareness and engagement across New Jersey institutions. Welcomes and connects with new members, reviews membership lists, supports outreach to non-member institutions, and strengthens partnerships with neighboring chapters (Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New York). This role also supports emerging leader development.
Treasurer-Elect (At-Large) (Three-Year Commitment)
Serves as the first year of a three-year financial leadership track. Assists with managing the chapter budget, processing payments, working with sponsors, and preparing the annual financial report, ensuring continuity in the Treasurer’s absence.
At-Large Board Members (Preferably Two-Year Term)
Supports program and event planning and helps cultivate sponsor relationships to expand the chapter’s reach and impact.
Eligibility Requirement:
Board members must be employed in a Human Resources role at an institution that is a current CUPA-HR member.

Chapter Board Selection Criteria:
All individuals holding a designated officer position must be listed as a representative of a higher education institution that is a member of the CUPA-HR national organization and that is supportive of this nomination.
Additionally, all board and non-board members are expected to:
- Show commitment to the New Jersey Chapter and its activities by participating in monthly board meetings and attending Chapter events (in-person and virtually);
- Collaborates with and support board member colleagues in completion of their responsibilities;
- Ensures smooth transition of information when transitioning between board roles or departing the board;
- Takes an active role in recruiting colleagues to join the Chapter board and our Champion Program;
- Honors our Board Values: accountability, honesty & integrity, respect, teamwork & collaboration, fun, empathy & empathetic leadership, and clear & transparent communication.
Chapter board and non-board member qualifications:
- Be listed as a representative of a higher education institution that is a member of the CUPA-HR national organization;
- Must currently be in a role higher education institution Human Resources in the New Jersey area.
