An Overview of AI in the Workplace and Implications for Workers, Leaders, and Students
Join the CUPA-HR New Jersey Chapter for an engaging panel discussion exploring how artificial intelligence—especially generative AI—is reshaping the workplace and what it means for HR leaders.
Drawing on academic research, national surveys, and New Jersey–based workforce studies, our panelists will provide a practical overview of what AI and generative AI are, why they matter for today’s workforce, and how HR professionals can better understand their real impact on jobs, skills, and organizational strategy. The session will highlight emerging concepts such as task exposure, organizational deployment, and skills-based hiring, helping HR leaders make sense of how AI is transforming work across industries.
Panelists will also explore practical applications of AI in HR, including recruiting, workforce planning, performance management, operations, and learning and development. In addition, the discussion will address important governance considerations such as ethics, bias, privacy, and responsible AI use, along with an overview of emerging public policy developments in New Jersey.
Through real-world examples, research insights, and interactive discussion, participants will gain a better understanding of how to evaluate AI adoption, support workforce reskilling, and help shape thoughtful, worker-centered AI strategies within their organizations.
