Nominations are open NOW!

The CUPA-HR New Jersey Chapter Executive Board is seeking nominations — self-nominations and nominations of colleagues — for the board positions of:

  • President-Elect
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Membership Coordinator

Nominations are requested by May 31st and board terms will begin July 1, 2024.  TO NOMINATE OR APPLY DIRECTLY, VISIT HERE.

Board members have the opportunity to engage with and support colleagues working in the New Jersey higher education community. Joining the Chapter Board is not only an opportunity to give back to the Higher Ed HR community but also a chance to further develop your leadership skills, expand your professional network, and enhance your resume.

President-Elect begins a three-year service commitment (year one- President Elect; Year two- President; Year three- Past President). As President-Elect, you work closely with the current president to understand the role and responsibilities of chapter leadership by participating in decision-making and learning about the organization’s operations. The president-elect is involved in event planning, membership engagement, and learning and development activities.

Treasurer sustains our good financial standing by managing and advising on the chapter’s budget, approving and processing payments, enrolling and working with sponsors and creating an annual financial report.  This position is a two-year service commitment.

Secretary records all official actions of the Board of Directors and of the membership at the chapter’s monthly business meetings. The secretary will also ensure that members are notified of the time, date, and place of meetings, and ensure distribution of agenda materials.  The secretary will distribute minutes to board members from minutes and conferences.  This position is a two-year service commitment.

Membership Coordinator (At-Large) shall be responsible for increasing awareness of the New Jersey CUPA-HR Chapter. The Membership Coordinator shall work in collaboration with New Jersey chapter leadership to cultivate new members; including contact new members via phone, e-mail or letter to introduce, welcome and/or answer questions; review new-member list prior to state conference and contact new members to welcome them. If list is large, divide among the board members for assistance; request membership update information (include non-members) from the national office throughout the year to assess membership and cultivate conversations with non-member institutions, strengthen connections with bordering state chapters (Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York – including NYC) as well as emerging leader development.

Please note, these executive board positions must be filled by those who are part of institutions that are CUPA-HR members and who work in a Human Resources role.

We look forward to the possibility of working together to elevate the impact of CUPA-HR in New Jersey!
