The CUPA-HR Rocky Mountain Chapter connects human resources professionals working in higher education across our region. We provide a space to share best practices, build professional relationships, and offer educational opportunities focused on the topics that matter most to our field.

The Rocky Mountain CUPA-HR Chapter is currently accepting nominations for open board positions. Serving on the board is an opportunity to support higher education HR professionals across our region, contribute to chapter programming, and help shape the future of our professional community.
Open Positions
President-Elect (3-Year Term)
Responsibilities:
- Support chapter leadership and strategic planning
- Promote membership growth and engagement
- Assume presidential duties when needed
- Transition into the President role following the term
Criteria for Selection:
Candidates must:
- Be employed at a national CUPA-HR member institution
- Have higher education HR experience
- Demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to chapter service
Member-at-Large (2-Year Term)
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate speakers for webinars and the annual conference
- Support chapter programming and member engagement initiatives
- Collaborate with the board on chapter priorities and events
Criteria for Selection:
Candidates should:
- Have experience in higher education HR
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for professional development and member engagement
- Be committed to active board participation
Nomination Timeline
Nominations Open: Immediately
Nomination Deadline: June 15th or until we get a representative amount of applications
Board Review & Selection: Following the nomination deadline
Candidate Notification & Onboarding: Selected candidates will be contacted directly after review
How to Submit a Nomination
Interested candidates should submit the following to [email protected]:
- A letter of interest describing:
- Why you would like to serve
- Your higher education HR experience
- How your background would contribute to the board
- Current resume
Selection Process
Following the nomination deadline, the board will review all submissions and select candidates who best complement the current board while ensuring broad representation across institution types, sizes, and underrepresented institutions throughout the Rocky Mountain region.
All applicants will be contacted after selections are finalized. Selected candidates will begin onboarding with current board members, while those not selected will be thanked for their interest and encouraged to stay involved with the chapter.
Please Note:
Anyone serving in a designated officer role (Past President, President, President-Elect, Secretary, or Treasurer) must be employed by a national CUPA-HR member institution.
