Learning Community

CUPA-HR Northern & Central California Chapter

The CUPA-HR Northern & Central California Chapter holds Learning Community events throughout the year, sometimes as stand-alone sessions and other times as part of larger events such as the All Day Conference. Each session will have a specific focus and is intended to be more informal than conferences or webinars.

The Learning Community is a place to connect and network with other Higher Education HR professionals. Attendees will have the opportunity to share what’s working on their campus and challenges they may be facing. The goal is to have everyone share, network and learn from one another.

If you are interested in sponsorship opportunities for this or any other event, please contact Lyndon Huling at [email protected] or Angela Stopper at [email protected].

Learning Community Event: Handling Stress

Wednesday, May 13, 2026 | 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. | via Zoom | REGISTER HERE

Join us for an engaging and interactive session in the Northern & Central CA CUPA-HR Learning Community focused on a topic that touches all of us in higher education HR: Handling Stress.

HR professionals are often the steady presence in moments of change, conflict, urgency, and uncertainty — supporting others while managing complex demands of our own. This session is designed as a peer exchange, not a lecture. Together, we’ll explore the unique stressors of HR roles, share practical strategies that actually work, and learn simple, science-informed techniques you can use immediately in your workday.

Through small group discussion and real-life scenario practice, you’ll walk away with practical tools, helpful tips and tricks, and collective wisdom from colleagues across our region — all focused on building sustainable ways to manage stress in our roles.

Join us for a supportive and energizing conversation with fellow HR professionals across Northern and Central California.
