May Lunch and Learn | Monday, May 20th | 12 - 1 pm

Join the CUPA-HR InterMountain West ChapterOregon Chapter, and Washington State Chapter boards for the May 20 virtual lunch and learn, “Empathy in Action: Essentials of Trauma-Informed Care,” with Anne Grey, Ed.D., District Coordinator for the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE) at Portland Community College.

In the face of rising traumatic events individually and collectively, 'Empathy in Action: Essentials of Trauma-Informed Care' becomes increasingly crucial. This session explores how trauma-informed approaches can be responsive and culturally sensitive. We'll examine the pervasive impact of trauma on personal and community levels and delve into cultural dynamics that may impede support for affected individuals. Participants will learn strategies to boost cultural sensitivity and inclusivity. We will challenge the prevalent deficit model associated with trauma, proposing a paradigm shift to view trauma as a potential source of strength and transformation.

Join us to redefine empathy and support through a culturally informed lens.
