Professional Development Opportunities
Professional development is available through many channels, including our very own CUPA-HR National website. This page will guide you in your search for opportunities to build up your knowledge, skills, and abilities. While we have selected a few of the opportunities we found to be most beneficial below, you are also able to look at the full range of online courses, as well as the new CUPA-HR Essentials, which are online programs designed to be completed in short learning periods. Please review the CUPA-HR Knowledge Center on the National website for more information on all of the available opportunities.
What Is the Creating Inclusive Communities Project?
Building a Successful, More Inclusive Search
Through a four (4) module learning approach, this program provides campus leaders and HR professionals alike the knowledge and skills necessary to cultivate diverse applicant pools for both faculty and staff positions. The modules focus on candidate pools, search committee effectiveness, identifying and selecting candidates, as well as employment offers and welcoming new candidates.
Creating Your Individual Development Plan
This course, which is free for members and non-members, provides you with the opportunity to map out your own personal strategy for career success, and will guide you through the process of creating your plan, discussing your career with your leaders and implementing your strategy for success. This course was developed in conjunction with the association’s learning framework, which guides all CUPA-HR education and programming.
