We will also outline a cost benefit analysis for assessing and developing HR practices and programs. By the end of the presentation, attendees should be more familiar with accounting as the language of business as well as be able to identify how the balance sheet and income statement represent a business&#8217;s financial results. Lead by Rutgers own Mr. Douglas Coffey<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Retirement Income<\/u><\/strong> &#8211; Discussion and details about income sources. For most constituents, retirement income will come from several sources, including:<\/p>\n<p>Social Security<\/p>\n<p>Retirement accounts and personal savings<\/p>\n<p>And other sources like earned income, pensions, real estate, and inheritances<\/p>\n<p>When you add up all of your income sources, you may find you don\u2019t have enough to cover your expenses. We call that an income gap and we\u2019ll discuss ways you may be able to narrow or close your income gap, including saving more in your retirement plan. His courses focus on the intersection of finance and HR as well as the application of economic principles to enhance the HR professional&#8217;s toolkit.<\/p>\n<p>Teaching at the university level is \u201cAct II\u201d\u00a0in Professor Coffey&#8217;s career. The earlier part of his career was in banking and financial services, primarily in the Wall Street area working as a talent management professional for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.\u00a0Prior to the Federal Reserve, he was a training manager at Barclays Bank. Throughout his career, he has held responsibilities where his background in finance and economics has been needed to understand his clients, plan, and promote initiatives, and train others.\u00a0As a result, he is a big believer in the need for such coursework within the Human Resource Management programs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Frank Booth, CRPS<\/strong>, Voya Financial Advisors, Inc. is a Financial Advisor, Investment Advisor Representative with over 30 years of experience working with clients in financial services. He has focused specifically on retirement plan clients in the tax-exempt markets of government, healthcare, and education for the past 20 years. He began his advisory career as a stock- broker but quickly realized the benefit of providing long-term financial guidance instead of transactional assistance for clients.
