“The future is inclusion: How allies can make a difference for LGBTQIA+ employees in the workplace”

Thursday December 9, 2021 | 10 a.m. EST

When LGBT employees feel unsafe in the workplace, productivity goes down and qualified people ultimately leave. An opportunity for change now exists, the largest adult generation in the labor force are Millennials, who are considered remarkably progressive & supportive of the LGBTQ community.  In this workshop, we will examine how to utilize your workforce strengths to make your workplace more LGBT-friendly, attract and retain qualified LGBT-candidates and employees, with an inclusive and respectful workplace.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Recognize at least two workplace red flags which can make LGBT employees feel discriminated against and unsafe.
  2. Enact at least two ways to affirm LGBT employees using inclusive language and increase ally visibility.
  3. Plan at least two ways to speak up when an LGBT employee needs an ally by the end of role playing.
