2020 Fall Webinar: The Care and Keeping of You, the HR Professionals
About this Event
With Covid-19 pandemic, Black Lives Matter, social unrests, global economic collapse, political divide and the like, 2020 is a year like no other. This is no different for HR professionals as many of us face challenging and stressful times, and are being called upon to tackle an entirely new array of programs, processes, and people issues. Whether our HR decisions involve creating recruitment procedures, managing remote employees, handling layoffs, or everything in between, the emotional well-being of HR professionals have been put to the test. Often our stress levels are often running rampant with constant feelings of being overwhelmed or a sense of failure. Unfortunately, this has become our norm, professionally and personally.
Being an HR professional is a challenging role under the most normal of circumstances. For many of us, today’s challenges mean longer days, increased demands, mental stress, depletion of our emotional resources, and burnout. This year and beyond will is a test for each of us– in our agility, resilience and perseverance– to be the best HR professionals we can be. How will we continue to show up as the best HR professionals? What can we do to remain actively engaged and an advocate or resource through local, national, and global crises? How are we taking care of ourselves, managing stress levels, and avoiding burnout? What are some best practices that promote self-care and wellness? Are you interested in learning ways to practice self-care and self-compassion? Do you have tips and tricks to share with other HR professionals? Do you just want to feel supported among peers? If so, then we have the event for you!
Join your CUPA-HR Northern and Central CA Chapter on Wednesday, October 28th, 10-11:30am for a virtual session on “The Care and Keeping of You, the HR Professional”. Sandy Batchelor, MA, Worklife Manager, UC Davis/Health, will lead us on a journey that will explore ways to practice self-care, adopt healthy habits, and renew our sense of well-being to continue to navigate our “new” normal.
