Meet our 2018-19 board members!
David Cronan is the Executive Director of Human Resources at Prairie State College in Chicago Heights, IL. He has been in Human Resources for over 20 years holding various positions in NYC municipal government, K-12 educational institutions, and now in Higher Ed since 2012. As a member of the College Cabinet, David brings the added value and perspective of Human Resources to all aspects of college administration. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from St. Anselm’s College, New Hampshire, a Master’s Degree in Theology from St. John’s University, Minnesota, and a Juris Doctor from New York Law School.
Leslie is the Director of Human Resources at Illinois Valley Community College in Oglesby, IL. She has over 20 years’ experience in Human Resources with the last 4 years in Higher Ed. She has extensive knowledge in labor negotiations, payroll, coaching and strategic planning. Leslie obtained her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Bradley University. She maintains her PHR and SHRM-CP certification.
Lou Ester Petty
LouEster is currently employed by the University of Illinois Health–Human Resources(HR) as an HR Assistant Manager. LouEster’s has human resource experience in various UIC units; Department of Nursing/Hospital HR, Department of Psychiatry HR and UIC Campus HR-Recruitment/Staffing. She serves on the UIC Chancellor’s Committees for the Status of Blacks (Staff Concerns) http://ccsb.uic.edu/subcommittees/
LouEster has served our Illinois CUPA-HR Board as a Member-At-Large (2011-2016). Also served as the Immediate Past Chair (2009-2010), Chair (August, 2006-June,2008), and Chair-Elect (July,2006). She is a graduate of Northern Illinois University (BS in Business Administration & Education) and former Illinois Educator for grades K-12 in Chicago Public Schools and Lake County systems.
Jacquelyn Flowers is the Manager of Employment Services at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is responsible for working with a diverse group of applicants, employees, supervisors, faculty, and administrators. She also works with campus administration to discuss affirmative action initiatives, position eliminations, and promotional opportunities. She achieved both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science and Technology degrees from Eastern Illinois University. She is currently in the Education Policy, Organization and Leadership doctoral program with a concentration in Human Resource Development at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
Sandra Hess Moll
Sandra is a Director of Recruitment and Staffing, at McHenry County College. With 20+ years of diverse, progressive experience in HR, she has a Master’s in Human Resource Development from Webster University, and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a minor in Marketing. Sandra has served on the Board of Illinois Colleges and University Professional Association of Human Resources as President and Treasurer. Her HR experience is both in the public (Higher Ed) and private sector to include manufacturing, banking, and motion picture exhibitor/entertainment industries. Sandra’s primary areas of expertise are in recruitment, diversity, on-boarding, performance management, and event planning.
Mark is the Manager of System Services, Network Administrator and Webmaster for Staff Human Resources at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He is also the Webmaster for Illinois CUPA. He is a 1995 graduate of Eastern Illinois University.

Selena LeSure currently serves as the inaugural Director of Human Resources and Administration in the Division of Student Affairs at Northwestern University. As the division’s head of human resources, she is tasked with fostering organizational health through people-focused services that attract, develop, and retain top talent.
With nearly 15 years of generalist through executive-level experience, Selena is a champion of continuous learning, information sharing, and strategic partnerships–and believes that individual and organizational successes are best achieved and celebrated together. Selena holds a Masters in Human Resources Management, maintains both PHR and SHRM-CP certifications, and is a member of SHRM and HRMAC.

Mary Spreitzer is the Assistant Vice President for Human Resources at North Central College. She has worked in Human Resources for over 25 years in non-profit, private industry, government, and – for the past 16 years – higher education.
Mary is responsible for the administration of all Human Resources functions from recruitment and selection through retirement and outplacement services. In addition, she serves as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator assisting in employee training, investigations, and appeals.
Mary earned her MBA with a concentration in Human Resources Management, maintains both SPHR and SHRM-SCP certifications, and is currently pursuing her Ed.D. in Education, Policy, Organization and Leadership with a concentration in Human Resource Development.

Assistant Director of Human Resources & Administrative Shared Service at the University of Illinois Illini Union is an accomplished HR professional with over 15 years of experience in the private and public sectors. She is responsible for the strategic development and senior management of the Illini Union human resources department leading diversity, reward and recognition, talent acquisition management, Labor and Employee relations, organizational and professional development to help with expanding its culture as the organization continues to grow and thrive.
Deborah holds a BS in Business Administration Management from Lane College and a MBA from Webster University.
Deborah is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) both on the national and local level, and The National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR)
Deborah serves as a mentor for young women and contributes her time to helping college students gain HR industry relevant skills and experience prior to transitioning in the workforce through the Illini Union student employment program.
She also enjoys mentoring early career HR professionals where she shares her knowledge and passion for HR.

Graciela Dufour has been a respected leader in the human resource field for over 25 years with specific focus in higher education for the past 20 years. She currently serves as the AVP for Human Resources and Title IX Coordinator at Lewis University in Southwest Suburban Chicago. Her role in HR has evolved over the years to include responsibility for key areas of the institution including: strategic initiatives, diversity/inclusion, recruitment/retention, staff development, mediation/conflict resolution and communication. Although Graciela’s main role is the AVP for Human Resources, she also serves as the Title IX Coordinator and lead negotiator for union negotiations. Her guidance to various on-campus groups provides a continuous assessment of the culture on campus for all.
In her role as Title IX Coordinator, Graciela leads a cross functional team charged with responding to complaints of sexual discrimination, harassment and misconduct and for proactive development of a harassment free environment for all members of the Campus community.
Graciela is an executive member of the University Diversity Action Team. Through collaborative efforts and thought provoking workshops, she has facilitated focus group sessions for faculty and staff of color, has provided direction for action plans and has created an environment where common relationships can be forged which enhance the overall climate for the underrepresented population.
Graciela served as a member of the Host & Planning Committee for HACU’s 27th Annual Conference, held in Chicago 2013. She was the founding member for Lewis University in 2005 and is excited about serving at a national level through the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities.
Lewis University is a Catholic and Lasallian institution serving a diverse student body of approximately 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students across four colleges: Business, Education, Liberal Arts and Nursing. It is a member of NCAA Division II and fields 18 men’s and women’s inter-collegiate teams, as well as several club and intramural sports programs. In addition to its main campus in Romeoville Illinois, it has campuses in Tinley Park and OakBrook, Illinois as well as in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Sue Zillmer is currently a Human Resources Coordinator at the College of Lake County in Grayslake, IL. Her main role is to work with the full-time and adjunct faculty on contractual issues, payroll issues and Union negotiations.
Prior to working at College of Lake County, Sue worked at Rock Valley College, in Rockford IL, for 28 years with the last 15+ years working extensively with workers’ compensation, insurance claims and loss control issues.
In addition, Sue works as a conference coordinator for the Illinois Community College Chief Financial Officers Association biannual conferences. This is a position she has held for 5 years.
She has received her A.A.S and A.A. degrees from Rock Valley College.
