As a board member, you will have the opportunity to engage with and support your fellow DC Metro HR professionals working in the higher education community. Terms will begin July 1, 2025.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cupahr.org\/\">CUPA-HR<\/a> has been at the forefront of education and resources for HR professionals in colleges and universities. As you may already know, the CUPA-HR community provides a means for HR professionals like you to exchange information, tips, resources, and stories with your fellow colleagues in the DC Metro and across the country.<\/p>\n<h3>Open Positions<\/h3>\n<p><strong>President-Elect (three-year term)<\/strong><br \/>\nThe President-elect shall serve as the special aide to the President, and shall assume all presidential<br \/>\nduties in the absence of the President. The President-elect serves as Chair of the Program Planning<br \/>\nCommittee charged with planning and implementing the annual conferences and meetings of the chapter. This position has a three-year commitment (one year as President-elect, one year as President, and one year as Past President).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Member at Large (one-year term)<\/strong><br \/>\nMember-at-Large assists the DC Metro Chapter and board with events and program planning and<br \/>\nsponsor recruitment; and promotes the association\u2019s values to DC Metro CUPA members. This is a one-<br \/>\nyear term with an option to renew.<br \/>\nSpecific Duties:<br \/>\n\u25cf Serves as liaison between membership and board<br \/>\n\u25cf Attend and participate in board meetings<br \/>\n\u25cf Support board members with activities and tasks related to all events<br \/>\n\u25cf Engage membership through social media<br \/>\n\u25cf Support with special initiatives<\/p>\n<h3>Chapter Officer Selection Criteria<\/h3>\n<p>All individuals holding a designated officer position must be listed as a representative of a higher education institution that is a member of the CUPA-HR national organization and that is supportive of this nomination.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Additionally, all board and non-board members are expected to:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u25a0 Show commitment to the DC Chapter and its activities by participating in monthly board<br \/>\nmeetings and attending Chapter events<br \/>\n\u25a0 Provides leadership consistent with CUPA-HR\u2019s commitment to providing equal opportunity<br \/>\nfor participation in all aspects of the organization without regard to race, gender,<br \/>\nnational\/ethnic origin, sexual orientation, age, veteran, religion or disabled status<br \/>\n\u25a0 Collaborates with and support board member colleagues in completion of their responsibilities<br \/>\n\u25a0 Ensures smooth transition of information when transitioning between board roles or departing<br \/>\nthe board<br \/>\n\u25a0 Takes an active role in recruiting members to join the Chapter board<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chapter board and non-board member qualifications:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u25a0 Be listed as a representative of a higher education institution that is a member of the CUPA-<br \/>\nHR national organization<br \/>\n\u25a0 Must be an employee of a post-secondary educational institution in the DC Metro area<br \/>\n\u25a0 A human resource professional who is currently in the field with no less than 50% of her\/his<br \/>\njob devoted to human resources activities<\/p>\n<h3>S<span style=\"font-size: 16px\">end an email to dcmetro@chapters.cupahr.org if you are interested!<\/span><\/h3>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Call for Board Nominations The\u00a0CUPA-HR DC Chapter board of directors is seeking nominations \u2013 both self-nominations and nominations of your colleagues \u2013 for President-Elect and Member at-Large board members.
