Q. Who is eligible for membership in the ALACUPA Chapter?

A. Institutions of higher education in the State of Alabama are eligible for membership. Any individual who is presently employed to perform professional personnel administration duties and designated by the institution will be a representative (voting). Associate membership (non-voting) is open to faculty, students, and other personnel practitioners, both retired and employed, associated with member institutions. Corporate membership (non-voting) is available to others who are attuned to the needs and purposes of higher education personnel professionals.

Q. Who is eligible to attend chapter meetings and activities:

A. All meetings and activities are open to the membership. Other individuals may be invited to attend or participate in workshops, seminar and conferences. Individuals and groups may be invited by members of the board and open invitations will be extended to others through announcements of events.

Q. What dues are charged for membership?

A. The CUPA-HR ALACUPA-HR Chapter membership is free and open to all higher education HR professionals in our area!

Q. Where are chapter offices located?

A. The chapter will not have a permanent staff or business address, and will depend on volunteers and support from member institutions and organizations when conducting business. The business address will be decided by the current chair. Correspondence may be directed to the appropriate officer listed under Board Members.

Q. What are the dates of the chapter fiscal year?

A. The corporation fiscal year is July 1 to June 30. (The business year for annual terms of the elected board and membership records is October 1 – September 30).
