Bio: Laura Hamilton, MS-HRM, SPHR, SHRM-CP serves as the Manager for Learning and Organizational Development for the Washington State University system.  Laura has a bachelor's in business administration, a master's in human resources, and has completed a graduate certificate in conflict resolution (allowing her to serve as a mediator).  She has worked in higher education human resources for over thirteen years after a thirteen-year career in healthcare operations.  She is trained as a trainer in Crucial Conversations, DiSC communication style, and Seven Habits.  Laura has engaged in constructing and conducting employee training programs since 2005.

We are thrilled to announce our keynote speaker, Dr. James Avey, Professor of Research, renowned for his groundbreaking work on positive psychological capital, ethical leadership, and psychological ownership. Featured in esteemed publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The Huffington Post, and The Leadership Quarterly, Dr. Avey will share insights on transitioning from grief to resilience.

Washington CUPA members will have two opportunities to get scholarships for the National Conference in Orlando: winners of our HR Hero Award will receive a $2000 scholarship, while one lucky attendee at our conference will be drawn to win a scholarship covering $1500. These scholarships can be used towards registration, airfare, and hotel accommodations. Nominations for the HR Hero Award will be taken from April 1st through May 15th. Additionally, conference attendees will have the chance to earn 5 SHRM/HRCI credits.
