Director of Human Resources – College of Mount St. Joseph
| Purpose: | Provides direction, coordination and compliance in all areas of Human Resource Management including recruitment and selection, employee relations and recognition, compensation, benefits, personnel records, performance management, training and development. Provides administrative support services to the College in the areas of organization development. |
| Duties: | -Exercise oversight of appropriate and effective policies and procedures throughout full recruitment process consistent with EEO principles including: job analysis, advertising, initial candidate screening, interviewing, reference and background checks, employment offers, and search documentation-Responsible for the development and maintenance of written guidelines for faculty and staff searches-Assist departments in determining revisions to existing positions, performance objectives, and the required skills, attributes and training needs of qualified candidates
-Develop and implement a staff performance management program including appropriate supervisor/staff training -Develop a staff training and development program consistent with design and results of the performance management program -Develop recruitment initiatives that seek to increase diversity among faculty and staff -Maintain industry/area-appropriate faculty and staff salary scales in an effort to maintain internal and external salary equity based on position classification system and ensure completion of salary surveys as appropriate -Prepare recommendations and supporting data for budget model process -In consultation with Fiscal Operations, prepare annual compensation reports as addendum to department budget reports -Facilitate transfer of salary information to payroll function -Administer regular system of benefits planning, negotiation and budgeting in consultation with the Chief Financial Officer -Ensure quality and cost effectiveness in renewal negotiations and carrier selection -Maintain record keeping and administration of functional areas in compliance with IRS and DOL -In consultation with Fiscal and HR staff, coordinate activities related to annual 403(b) plan audit -Recommend, maintain and administer College policies, procedures, and resources related to faculty, staff and the employment environment in consultation with the Chief Compliance & Risk Officer -Provide consultation services to administrative officers and other management personnel in the efficient and equitable resolution of faculty/staff personnel issues including disciplinary actions -Create a secure, welcoming environment for faculty and staff to discuss concerns that arise and help work toward creative and constructive options for resolution -Recommend and secure appropriate resources for such matters directly or through the Chief Compliance & Risk Officer (i.e. legal, risk management, Employee Assistance Fund, Employee Assistance Program, insurance carrier) -Ensure a fair and consistent application of College policies and procedures related to faculty and staff consistent with principles of Equal Employment Opportunity -Ensure compliance in the collection, processing, and maintenance of employment related records and information -Coordinate format and maintain current, equitable position descriptions for all non-faculty positions -Provide consultative services and support for College-wide, divisional and/or departmental restructuring efforts -Serve on College committees as ex-officio member or as elected or appointed -Contributes to team effort by welcoming new and different work requirements; exploring new opportunities to enhance the services of the division; helping others accomplish related job results as and where needed. |

| Qualifications | |
| Education: | Masters Degree Preferred; Bachelors Degree Minimum |
| Experience: | Extensive generalist experience in personnel/human resource management preferably in higher education |
| Specialized Training: | HR certification such as PHR or SPHR preferable; proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point |
