Shhhhh!! Why is everything so quiet? - The Quiet Movement

Join the CUPA HR Lone Star Chapter for an engaging discussion on the "Quiet Movement" that emerged in the wake of the 2020 pandemic and is currently influencing organizational recruitment and retention strategies.  This forum provides a valuable opportunity for HR colleagues to exchange their experiences related to quiet quitting, firing, hiring, and thriving.  Our objective is to showcase effective practices that HR practitioners can utilize to navigate and manage this growing trend.

Forward Together – Going Global:  Learning about HR trends from Across the Pond

This webinar featured Emma Ogden who presented on UK Higher Education Trends, Best Practices, and Innovation.  As a Consultant with the UK based higher education SUMS Group, Emma brings her expertise in Human Resources and experience working with multiple universities in the United Kingdom.

HR practitioners face similar challenges across the globe. As the world grows ever smaller, there is much to learn from our international colleagues. We look forward to hearing how higher ed is evolving in the United Kingdom and considering how their best practices may enrich the HR practices of our Lone Star colleagues and other CUPAHR members.

Forward Together: Thriving through the Great Resignation

Tarrant County College, 300 Trinity Campus Circle, Fort Worth, 76102  from 8:30am-11:00am.

During this in-person event we held a panel discussion that explored the strategies higher education institutions use to manage the significant impact of the full employment cycle that has been turned upside down. We discussed why individuals are seeking other opportunities and how each of us can assist our respective institutions to recruit, develop, engage, and retain talent.

During this in person event we were able to provide Human Resources professionals a panel discussion along with an opportunity to network and exchange ideas with colleagues during a light breakfast.

Panelists included the following distinguished higher education professionals:

  • Jane Gray, Senior Director of Talent Acquisition (UNT System)
  • Natasha Antonetty, Director Talent Acquisition (TCC)
  • Eddie Knight, Human Resources Director (UTHealth Harris County Psychiatric Center)
  • Kristen Taylor, Director Employee Relations (Texas Christian University)
  • Sammy Khmur, Regional Sales Manager, Education (Cornerstone on Demand)
