Located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, The University of Alabama is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Compensation Analyst. The Compensation Analyst is responsible for administering the staff classification and compensation programs/projects for the University and ensuring they comply with federal, state, and local regulations and are consistent with UA goals and strategies. Duties include but are not limited to researching and analyzing staff position descriptions for classification and compensation, evaluating FLSA status and AAP coding, and benchmarking UA staff positions. This position compiles salary information for salary surveys and consults with departments on classification, compensation practices, promotions, and issues related to pay. Serves as a project lead and may supervise others.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of experience working in a Human Resources environment with at least one year in a classification and compensation role; OR Associate’s degree and a minimum of five years of experience working in a human resources environment with at least two years in a classification and compensation role. Must have a knowledge of compensation principles and practices. Must have knowledge of FLSA regulations. Current certification as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred. Experience in Higher Education preferred. Must be able to work in a team-based environment, must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills, and must have strong organizational and time management skills.
